Thiruvananthapuram: Renowned Bharatanatyam dancer and Padmashri awardee, Geeta Chandran<\/strong>, will enthral audiences with a solo performance titled \u201cAnantaya: Embracing Infinity\u201d at the prestigious Nishagandhi Dance Festival<\/strong>. The captivating performance will take place on Sunday, February 18, 2024, at 6.45pm<\/strong> at the Nishagandhi Theatre, Kanakakunnu Palace Compound, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.<\/p>\n

Organized by the Kerala Tourism Development Corporation (KTDC)<\/strong>, Nishagandhi Dance Festival<\/strong> is known to celebrate Indian classical dance and promotes culture through such enriching performances. As part of this festival, Geeta Chandran<\/strong>\u2019s solo piece, "Anantaya\u2013 Embracing Infinity" promises to be a captivating exploration of infinity, both in its philosophical and emotional dimensions and which will take the audience on a journey that transcends the bounds of time and space.<\/p>\n

Through her fluid movements and exceptional storytelling prowess, Geeta distils five decades of immersion into the art form<\/strong>, offering a performance rich in rhythm, expression, and mythology.<\/p>\n

It is an opportunity to witness traditional and original compositions come alive as \u201cbhava, raga, and tala\u201d intertwine, unveiling the timeless beauty of Natyam \u2013 the art of weaving tales through eras. Her masterful use of \u201dhastas, mudras, and bhavas\u201d are bound to transport viewers through the vastness of the universe, both cosmic and within each individual, leaving one and all suffused with the vibrant essence of India\u2019s cultural wealth. This experiential journey begins with the exploration of infinity through a Dhrupad Nirgeet<\/strong>, followed by a classical Varnam exploring the infinite love for Shiva<\/strong>, and culminates in a Meera Bhajan, expressing the endless search for the eternal.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Adding depth and nuance to the performance will be a team of accomplished accompanying artists. Varun Rajasekharan<\/strong> on the nattuvangam<\/strong> (rhythmic cymbals), K.
