നിശാഗന്ധിഡാന്‍ഡ്ഫെസ്റ്റിവലില്‍പത്മശ്രീഗീതചന്ദ്രന്റെഭരതനാട്യം 18ന്
കൊച്ചി: പ്രമുഖ ക്ലാസിക്കല്‍ നര്‍ത്തകി പത്മശ്രീ ഗീത ചന്ദ്രന്റെ ഭരതനാട്യം ഞായറാഴ്ച തിരുവനന്തപുരം കനകക്കുന്നിലെ നിശാഗന്ധി തീയറ്ററില്‍ അരങ്ങേറും. ഈ വര്‍ഷത്തെ നിശാഗന്ധി നൃത്തോത്സവത്തിന്റെ ഭാഗമായി ഞായറാഴ്ച വൈകീട്ട് 6.45നാണ് ‘അനന്തായ: എംബ്രേസിങ് ഇന്‍ഫിനിറ്റി’ എന്ന പേരിലുള്ള സോളോ ഭരതനാട്യം.
അഞ്ച് പതിറ്റാണ്ടിന്റെ വഴക്കമുള്ള നൃത്തവൈഭവവും നാട്യരൂപത്തിലുള്ള കഥപറച്ചിലിന്റെ താളവും ഇഴചേര്‍ന്ന മികച്ച കലാവിരുന്നാണ് ആസ്വാദകര്‍ക്കായി ഗീത ഒരുക്കുന്നത്. ദ്രുപത് നിര്‍ഗീതില്‍ ആരംഭിച്ച് ക്ലാസിക്കല്‍ വര്‍ണത്തിലൂടെ മീരാ ഭജനില്‍ പര്യവസാനിക്കുന്ന മാതൃകയിലാണ് അനന്തായയുടെ അവതരണം.
നാട്യത്തിന്റെ കാലാതീത സൗന്ദര്യം അനാവരണം ചെയ്യുന്ന ഭാവ രാഗ താള ലയവും കാലഘട്ടങ്ങളിലൂടെ കഥകള്‍ പറയുന്ന ഹസ്ത മുദ്രകളുടേയും ഭാവങ്ങളുടേയും സമര്‍ത്ഥമായ പ്രയോഗവും കാഴ്ചക്കാരെ അനന്തതയിലേക്ക് കാഴ്ച്ചക്കാരെ കൂട്ടിക്കൊണ്ടു പോകും. ഗീതയുടെ മാസ്മരിക നൃത്തത്തിന് മാറ്റുകൂട്ടാന്‍ വരുണ്‍ രാജശേഖരന്റെ നാട്ടുവംഗം, കെ വെങ്കിലേഷിന്റെ ആലാപനം, മനോഹര്‍ ബാലചന്ദിരന്റെ മൃദംഗം, ജി രാഘവേന്ദ്ര പ്രസാദിന്റെ വയലിനും അകമ്പടിയുണ്ടാകും.

a Solo Bharatanatyam Performance at Nishagandhi Dance Festival
Thiruvananthapuram: Renowned Bharatanatyam dancer and Padmashri awardee, Geeta Chandran, will enthral audiences with a solo performance titled “Anantaya: Embracing Infinity” at the prestigious Nishagandhi Dance Festival. The captivating performance will take place on Sunday, February 18, 2024, at 6.45pm at the Nishagandhi Theatre, Kanakakunnu Palace Compound, Thiruvananthapuram, Kerala.
Organized by the Kerala Tourism Development Corporation (KTDC), Nishagandhi Dance Festival is known to celebrate Indian classical dance and promotes culture through such enriching performances. As part of this festival, Geeta Chandran’s solo piece, "Anantaya– Embracing Infinity" promises to be a captivating exploration of infinity, both in its philosophical and emotional dimensions and which will take the audience on a journey that transcends the bounds of time and space.
Through her fluid movements and exceptional storytelling prowess, Geeta distils five decades of immersion into the art form, offering a performance rich in rhythm, expression, and mythology.
It is an opportunity to witness traditional and original compositions come alive as “bhava, raga, and tala” intertwine, unveiling the timeless beauty of Natyam – the art of weaving tales through eras. Her masterful use of ”hastas, mudras, and bhavas” are bound to transport viewers through the vastness of the universe, both cosmic and within each individual, leaving one and all suffused with the vibrant essence of India’s cultural wealth. This experiential journey begins with the exploration of infinity through a Dhrupad Nirgeet, followed by a classical Varnam exploring the infinite love for Shiva, and culminates in a Meera Bhajan, expressing the endless search for the eternal.
Adding depth and nuance to the performance will be a team of accomplished accompanying artists. Varun Rajasekharan on the nattuvangam (rhythmic cymbals), K. Venkatesh on vocals, Manohar Balatchandirane on the mridangam (percussion drum) and G. Raghavendra Prasath on the violin will provide a rich canvas for Geeta to paint with her mesmerising dance.
