9-ാമത് ഫിലിം റിസ്റ്റോറേഷന്‍ അന്താരാഷ്ട്ര ശില്‍പശാലയ്ക്ക് തുടക്കമായി

ലോകത്തിന്റെ വിവിധ ഭാഗങ്ങളില്‍ നിന്നുള്ള 66 പേര്‍ പങ്കെടുക്കുന്നു, യുഎസ്, ഇറ്റലി, ഫ്രാന്‍സ് തുടങ്ങിയ രാജ്യങ്ങളില്‍ നിന്നുള്ള 20 ആര്‍ക്കൈവിസ്റ്റുകള്‍, കണ്‍സര്‍വേറ്റേഴ്‌സ് തുടങ്ങിയവര്‍ ശില്‍പ്പശാല നയിക്കും
ശില്പശാല പ്രധാനമെന്ന് വിഖ്യാത സംവിധായകന്‍ മാര്‍ട്ടിന്‍ സ്‌കോര്‍സസി, കമല്‍ ഹാസന്‍, അമിതാഭ് ബച്ചന്‍, മമ്മൂട്ടി, മോഹന്‍ലാല്‍ തുടങ്ങിയവര്‍ വിഡിയോ സന്ദേശങ്ങളില്‍
തിരുവനന്തപുരം: ഒമ്പതാമത് ഫിലിം പ്രിസര്‍വേഷന്‍ & റിസ്റ്റോറേഷന്‍ വര്‍ക്ക്ഷോപ്പ് ഇന്ത്യ 2024ന് തിരുവനന്തപുരത്ത് തുടക്കമായി. ട്രിവാന്‍ഡ്രം ഗോള്‍ഫ് ക്ലബ്ബില്‍ നടന്ന ഉദ്ഘാടനച്ചടങ്ങില്‍ വിശ്രുത സംവിധായകന്‍ സയ്യിദ് മിര്‍സ, സിനിമാതാരങ്ങളായ ഷീല, ജലജ, ചീഫ് സെക്രട്ടറി ശാരദ മുരളീധരന്‍, കെഎസ്എഫ്ഡിസി ചെയര്‍മാന്‍ ഷാജി എന്‍ കരുണ്‍, സാംസ്‌കാരിക വകുപ്പ് അഡീ. ചീഫ് സെക്രട്ടറി ഡോ. രാജന്‍ ഖോര്‍ബ്രഗാദെ തുടങ്ങിയവര്‍ പങ്കെടുത്തു. ഉദ്ഘാടനച്ചടങ്ങില്‍ സിനിമാചരിത്രകാരന്‍ എസ് തിയോടര്‍ ഭാസ്‌കരനെ സമഗ്ര സംഭാവനയ്ക്കുള്ള പുരസ്‌കാരം നല്‍കി ആദരിച്ചു. നവംബര്‍ 14 വരെ കേരള സര്‍ക്കാരിന്റെ സാംസ്‌കാരിക വകുപ്പിന്റെ കീഴിലുള്ള വൈലോപ്പിള്ളി സംസ്‌കൃതിഭവന്‍ മള്‍ട്ടി പര്‍പ്പസ് കള്‍ച്ചറല്‍ കോംപ്ലക്സിലാണ് ശില്പശാല നടക്കുക.
ജസ്റ്റിസ് ഹേമാ കമ്മിറ്റിയെ നിയമിച്ചത് മലയാള സിനിമയിലെ ചരിത്രസംഭവമാണെന്നും അതിനു മുന്‍കയ്യെടുത്ത മുഖ്യമന്ത്രി പിണറായി വിജയനെ അഭിനന്ദിക്കുന്നുവെന്നും സിനിമാതാരം ഷീല പറഞ്ഞു. മണ്‍മറഞ്ഞ നടീനടന്മാര്‍ക്ക് അവരുടെ മരണവേളയില്‍ നല്‍കുന്ന ആദരവും അഭിനന്ദനാര്‍ഹമാണ്. എന്നാല്‍ ഒട്ടേറെ സിനിമകളില്‍ പ്രവര്‍ത്തിച്ച് വിശ്രമജീവിതം നയിക്കുന്ന സിനിമാ പ്രവര്‍ത്തകരെ അവര്‍ ജീവിച്ചിരിക്കുന്ന സമയത്തു തന്നെ അംഗീകാരങ്ങള്‍ നല്‍കാനും ആദരിക്കാനും തയ്യാറാകണമെന്നും അവര്‍ പറഞ്ഞു. മലയാള സിനിമാ നിര്‍മാണം കേന്ദ്രീകരിച്ചിരുന്ന മദ്രാസിലായിരുന്നു അന്ന് ഞങ്ങളുടെയെല്ലാം താമസം. സിനിമകള്‍ റിലീസാവുന്നതോ കേരളത്തിലും. അങ്ങനെ ഞാന്‍ അഭിനയിച്ച പല സിനിമകള്‍ പോലും കാണാന്‍ സാധിച്ചില്ല. പലതും നഷ്ടപ്പെട്ടു. നല്ല ഗുണനിലവാരത്തില്‍ തിരിച്ചു കിട്ടിയാല്‍ അവയില്‍ പലതും പ്രദര്‍ശിപ്പിക്കാന്‍ ഒടിടി ചാനലുകള്‍ തയ്യാറാണ്. ഈ പശ്ചാത്തലത്തില്‍ ശിവേന്ദ്ര സിംഗ് ദുംഗാര്‍പൂരിന്റെ ഈ ഉദ്യമത്തിന് കേരള സര്‍ക്കാര്‍ സര്‍വവിധ പിന്തുണയും നല്‍കണമെന്നും അവര്‍ അഭ്യര്‍ത്ഥിച്ചു. പഴയ സിനികള്‍ വലിയ ചരിത്രമൂല്യമുണ്ടെന്നും ്അവര്‍ പറഞ്ഞു. പഴയ കാലത്തെ ജീവിതരീതികള്‍ അവ പ്രതിഫലിപ്പിക്കുന്നു.
ലോകത്തിന്റെ വിവിധ ഭാഗങ്ങളിലും മുന്‍കാലങ്ങളിലും നിന്നുള്ള മികച്ച കലാസൃഷ്ടികളും സാഹിത്യരചനകളും സിനിമകളും മറ്റും ആസ്വദിക്കാനും അറിയാനുമുള്ള കേരളീയരുടെ ജിജ്ഞാസ പ്രസിദ്ധമാണെന്ന് മുഖ്യപ്രഭാഷണത്തില്‍ ചീഫ് സെക്രട്ടറി ശാരദാ മുരളീധരന്‍ പറഞ്ഞു. ഈ പശ്ചാത്തലത്തില്‍ മുന്‍കാല സിനിമകളില്‍ യഥാതഥമായ ഗാംഭീര്യത്തോടെ റിസ്റ്റോര് ചെയ്യുന്നത് പരിശീലിപ്പിക്കുന്ന ഈ ശില്‍പ്പശാല ഏറെ പ്രസക്തമാണെന്ന് അവര്‍ പറഞ്ഞു.
ജീവിതത്തില്‍ ഓര്‍മകള്‍ക്കുള്ള പ്രാധാന്യമാണ് ഫിലിം പ്രിസര്‍വേഷനുള്ളതെന്ന് ഷാജി എന്‍ കരുണ്‍ പറഞ്ഞു. ഓര്‍മകളില്ലാത്ത ജീവിതം അസാധ്യമാണ്. ഒരാളുടെ ജീവിതത്തിലെ പ്രിയപ്പെട്ട ഓര്‍മകളെടുത്താല്‍ അതില്‍ സിനിമകള്‍ക്കും മുഖ്യസ്ഥാനമുണ്ടാകുമെന്നും അദ്ദേഹം പറഞ്ഞു. സെല്ലുലോയ്ഡ് യുഗത്തിലെ സിനിമകളില്‍ ഭൂരിപക്ഷവും നഷ്ടപ്പെട്ടു പോയെന്നും തിരിച്ചു പിടിയ്ക്കാന്‍ സാധ്യമായവയെല്ലാം തിരിച്ചു പിടിയ്ക്കാനുള്ള വലിയ ഉദ്യമത്തിലേയ്ക്കുള്ള വന്‍ചുവടുവെപ്പാണ് ഈ ശില്‍പ്പശാലയെന്നും അദ്ദേഹം പറഞ്ഞു.
സിനിമാസംവിധാനത്തില്‍ സാധ്യമായിരുന്ന മികച്ച കരിയര്‍ ഉപേക്ഷിച്ച് ഫിലിം ആര്‍ക്കൈവിംഗിലേയ്ക്കും റിസ്റ്റൊറേഷനിലേയ്ക്കും വന്നത് മലയാളിയാ പി കെ നായരുടെ പ്രചോദനത്തിലാണെന്ന ശില്‍പ്പശാലയുടെ മുഖ്യസംഘാടകനും ഫിലിം ഹെറിറ്റേജ് ഫൗണ്ടേഷന്റെ സ്ഥാപകനും ലോകപ്രസിദ്ധ ഫിലിം ആര്‍ക്കൈവിസ്റ്റുമായ ശിവേന്ദ്ര സിംഗ് ദുംഗാര്‍പൂര്‍ പറഞ്ഞു. പത്തു വര്‍ഷം മുമ്പാണ് ഫൗണ്ടേഷന്‍ സ്ഥാപിച്ചത്. ഒമ്പതാമത് ശില്‍പ്പശാലയിലെത്തുമ്പോള്‍ ഫിലിമുകളിലെ സിനിമയെ എന്നെന്നേയ്ക്കുമായി രക്ഷിച്ചെടുക്കാനുള്ള മുന്നേറ്റം വളരുകയാണെന്നതില്‍ അഭിമാനമുണ്ടെന്നും അദ്ദേഹം പറഞ്ഞു. ഒറിജിനല്‍ നെഗറ്റീവ് നഷ്ടപ്പെട്ടു പോയിരുന്ന അരവിന്ദന്റെ കുമ്മാട്ടിയുടെ റിസ്റ്റൊറേഷന് പൂര്‍ത്തികരിച്ചതും അദ്ദേഹം ഓര്‍മിച്ചു.
ഒട്ടേറെ ലോകക്ലാസിക് സിനിമകള്‍ എന്നെന്നേയ്ക്കുമായി നഷ്ടപ്പെട്ടുപോയെന്ന് യുകെയില്‍ നി്‌ന്നെത്തിയ പ്രശസ്ത റെസ്റ്റൊറേഷന്‍ വിദഗ്ധനും ശില്‍്പ്പശാലയിലെ പരിശീലകനുമായ ഡേവിഡ് വാല്‍ഷ് പറഞ്ഞു. ഇത് ഇനി സംഭവിച്ചു കൂടാ. അതിനുള്ള പൂര്‍ണവും വിശദവുമായ പരിശീലനവുമാണ് ശില്‍പ്പശാലയില്‍ നല്‍കുകയെന്നും അദ്ദേഹം പറഞ്ഞു.
ശിവേന്ദ്ര സിംഗ് ദുംഗാര്‍പൂരിന്റെ നേതൃത്വത്തില്‍ ഫിലിം ഹെറിറ്റേജ് ഫൗണ്ടേഷന്‍ (എഫ്എച്ച്എഫ്) ഇന്റര്‍നാഷണല്‍ ഫെഡറേഷന്‍ ഓഫ് ഫിലിം ആര്‍ക്കൈവ്‌സുമായി (എഫ്‌ഐഎഎഫ്) സഹകരിച്ചാണ് ശില്‍പ്പശാല സംഘടിപ്പിക്കുന്നത്. വൈലോപ്പിള്ളി സംസ്‌കൃതി ഭവനിലെ മുഖ്യപ്രഭാഷണ വേദിയ്ക്കു പുറമെ അരവിന്ദന്‍, കെ ജി ജോര്‍ജ്, ജോണ്‍ എബ്രഹാം, പി കെ നായര്‍, അടൂര്‍ എന്നീ പേരുകളിലുള്ള ക്ലാസ്‌റൂമുകളിലാണ് പരീശീലന സെഷനുകള്‍ നടക്കുക. ലോകത്തിന്റെ വിവിധ ഭാഗങ്ങളില്‍ നിന്നുള്ള 66 പേര്‍ പങ്കെടുക്കുന്ന ശില്‍പ്പശാലയില്‍ വിവിധ ആര്‍ക്കെവിംഗ്, റിസറ്റോറിംഗ് സങ്കേതങ്ങളില്‍ പരിശീലകരായെത്തുന്ന യുഎസ്, ഇറ്റലി, ഫ്രാന്‍സ് തുടങ്ങിയ രാജ്യങ്ങളില്‍ നിന്നുള്ള 20 ആര്‍ക്കൈവിസ്റ്റുകള്‍, കണ്‍സര്‍വേറ്റേഴ്‌സ് തുടങ്ങിയവരും നഗരത്തിലെത്തിയിട്ടുണ്ട്. ന്യൂയോര്‍ക്കിലെ മെട്രോപൊളിറ്റന്‍ മ്യൂസിയം ഓഫ് ആര്‍ട്ട്, ബ്രിട്ടീഷ് ഫിലിം ഇന്‍സ്റ്റിറ്റ്യൂട്ട്, L’Immagine Ritrovata, Bologna, Institute National de l’Audiovisuel, Fondation Jérôme Seydoux – Pathé and Cineteca Portuguesa തുടങ്ങിയ പ്രമുഖ സ്ഥാപനങ്ങളില്‍ നിന്നുള്ള വിദഗ്ധരാണ് എത്തുന്നത്. ഫിലിം റിസ്റ്റോറിംഗിനുള്ള സവിശേഷ മേശകളും ഉപകരണങ്ങളും മുബൈയില്‍ നിന്നും എത്തിയിട്ടുണ്ട്.
മലയാളത്തിലും റിസ്റ്റോര് ചെയ്ത പഴയ സിനിമകള്‍ വീണ്ടും തീയറ്റര്‍ റിലീസിനെത്തുന്ന ഇക്കാലത്ത് ഫിലിം റിസ്റ്റോറിംഗ് പരിശീലനത്തിന് ചരിത്രപരമായ ദൗത്യം നിറവേറ്റാനുണ്ടെന്നും ഇന്ത്യയില്‍ ആധുനിക സിനിമാ റിസ്റ്റോറിംഗിന് തുടക്കം കുറിച്ച ശിവേന്ദ്ര സിംഗ് പറഞ്ഞു. ബാക് റ്റു ദി ബിഗിനിംഗ് എന്ന പേരില്‍ ബച്ചന്‍ സിനിമകളുടെ റിസ്റ്റൊറേഷനോടെയായിരുന്നു തുടക്കം. തുടര്‍ന്ന് ദേവാനന്ദ്, നാഗേശ്വര റാവു തുടങ്ങിയവരുടെ ചിത്രങ്ങളും റിസ്റ്റോര് ചെയ്ത് എത്തി. രാജ് കപൂര്‍, ശിവാജി ഗണേശന്‍ തുടങ്ങിയവരുടെ റിസ്റ്റോറിംഗാണ് തുടര്‍ന്ന് നടപ്പാക്കുന്നതെന്നും അദ്ദേഹം പറഞ്ഞു.
സിനിമ, വീഡിയോ, ഓഡിയോ, ഡിജിറ്റല്‍ പ്രിസര്‍വേഷന്‍, ഫിലിം കണ്‍സര്‍വേഷന്‍ ആന്‍ഡ് റിസ്റ്റോറേഷന്‍, ഡിജിറ്റൈസേഷന്‍, ഡിസാസ്റ്റര്‍ റിക്കവറി, കാറ്റലോഗിംഗ്, പേപ്പര്‍, ഫോട്ടോഗ്രാഫ് കണ്‍സര്‍വേഷന്‍, പ്രോഗ്രാമിംഗ് തുടങ്ങിയ വിഷയങ്ങളില്‍ പ്രഭാഷണങ്ങളും പരിശീലന സെഷനുകളുമുള്‍പ്പെടുന്നതാണ് ശില്പശാല. ക്ലാസുകള്‍ക്ക് ശേഷം റീസ്റ്റോര്‍ ചെയ്ത ലോകസിനിമകളുടെ പ്രദര്‍ശനമുണ്ടായിരിക്കും. ദി ജനറല്‍, മന്ഥന്‍, സെനഗലില്‍ നിന്നുള്ള ക്യാമ്പ് ഡെ തിയറോയെ, ഷാഡോസ് ഓഫ് ഫൊര്‍ഗോട്ടന്‍ ആങ്‌സെസ്‌റ്റേഴ്‌സ്, ഫെല്ലിനിയുടെ വിശ്വവിഖ്യാതമായ എയ്റ്റ് ആന്‍ഡ് ഹാഫി, ലെ സമുറായ് തുടങ്ങി ഈയിടെ റിസ്റ്റോര് ചെയ്യപ്പെട്ട ചിത്രങ്ങളാണ് ശ്രീ തീയറ്ററില്‍ പ്രദര്‍ശിപ്പിക്കുന്നത്. വിപണിയില്‍ എത്തുന്നതിനു മുമ്പാണ് ഈ ചിത്രങ്ങള്‍ ഇപ്പോള്‍ ശില്‍പ്പശാലയുടെ ഭാഗമായി പ്രദര്‍ശനത്തിനെത്തുന്നത്. ഇവ റിസ്റ്റോര് ചെയ്യുന്നതിന് നേതൃത്വം നല്‍കിയവരില്‍ ലോകപ്രശസ്ത ഹോളിവുഡ് സംവിധായകന്‍ മാര്‍ട്ടിന്‍ സ്‌കോര്‍സെസി ഒഴിച്ചുള്ളവരെല്ലാം ശില്‍പ്പശാലയിലെത്തുന്നുണ്ട്.
2015 മുതല്‍ രാജ്യത്തിന്റെ വിവിധ ഭാഗങ്ങളില്‍ നടത്തിയ ശില്‍പശാലകളില്‍ 400-ലധികം പേര്‍ക്ക് പരിശീലനം ലഭിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ട്.
തുടക്കക്കാരായ ഫിലിം ആര്‍ക്കൈവ് ജീവനക്കാര്‍, ആര്‍ക്കൈവിംഗിനെക്കുറിച്ച് പഠിക്കാന്‍ ആഗ്രഹിക്കുന്ന ഓഡിയോ-വിഷ്വല്‍ പ്രൊഫഷണലുകള്‍, മീഡിയയും അനുബന്ധ വിഷയങ്ങളും പഠിക്കുന്ന വിദ്യാര്‍ത്ഥികള്‍, ഓഡിയോ-വിഷ്വല്‍ ആര്‍ക്കൈവിംഗില്‍ താല്‍പ്പര്യമുള്ള വ്യക്തികള്‍ തുടങ്ങിയ 67 പേരാണ് ശില്‍പ്പശാലയില്‍ പങ്കെടുക്കാന്‍ എത്തുന്നത്. ഇവരില്‍ 30 പേര്‍ കേരളത്തില്‍ നിന്നും ബാക്കിയുള്ളവര്‍ കേരളത്തിനും ഇന്ത്യയ്ക്കും പുറത്തു നിന്നുള്ളവരുമാണ്. ഓസ്‌ട്രേലിയ, ദക്ഷിണ കൊറിയ, യുകെ, റുമാനിയ തുടങ്ങിയ രാജ്യങ്ങളില്‍ നിന്നുള്ളവര്‍ക്കൊപ്പം ശ്രീലങ്കയില്‍ നിന്നുള്ള 12 അംഗ സംഘവുമുണ്ട്.
യാഥാര്‍ത്ഥ്യത്തെ ഏറ്റവും കൃത്യമായി അവതരിപ്പിക്കുന്നത് റിസ്റ്റോര് ചെയ്ത സിനിമകളാണ്
ഒടിടി ചാനലുകളിലും യുട്യൂബിലും സിനിമകള്‍ കാണാനുള്ളപ്പോള്‍ എന്തിനാണ് ഫിലിം റിസ്റ്റോറിംഗ് എന്നു ചോദിക്കുന്നവരുണ്ടെന്ന് ശിവേന്ദ്ര സിംഗ് ദുംഗാര്‍പൂര്‍ പറഞ്ഞു. അവ ഒരിക്കലും തീയറ്ററുകളുടെ വലിയ സ്‌ക്രീനുകളില്‍ പ്രൊജക്റ്റ് ചെയ്യാനാവില്ല. യാഥാര്‍ത്ഥ്യത്തെ ഏറ്റവും കൃത്യമായി അവതരിപ്പിക്കുന്നത് റിസ്റ്റോര് ചെയ്ത സിനിമകളാണെന്ന വ്യത്യാസവുമുണ്ട്. റിസ്റ്റോര് ചെയ്യപ്പെട്ട പഴയ സിനിമകള്‍ ഇപ്പോള്‍ കാണുമ്പോള്‍ അതിന്റെ വ്യത്യാസം മനസ്സിലാകും. ഡിജിറ്റലായി എടുത്ത സിനിമകളില്‍ അതിയാഥാര്‍ത്ഥ്യമാണുള്ളത്.
ആര്‍ക്കൈവിസ്റ്റുകളുടെ ഒരു സൈന്യം ആവശ്യം: കമല്‍ ഹാസന്‍
അതുല്യവും അനിവാര്യവുമാണ് ഈ പരിശീലന സംരംഭമെന്ന് നടനും എഫ്എച്ച്എഫിന്റെ ഉപദേശകനുമായ കമല്‍ഹാസന്‍ പറഞ്ഞു. ‘ലോകത്തിന് നമ്മുടെ ചലച്ചിത്ര പൈതൃകത്തിന്റെ വലിയൊരു ശേഖരം നഷ്ടപ്പെട്ടു പോയി. നമ്മുടെ സിനിമാ പാരമ്പര്യം കാത്തുസൂക്ഷിക്കുന്നതിനും ഇന്നത്തെയും നാളത്തേയും സിനിമകളെ സംരക്ഷിക്കാനും നമുക്ക് ആര്‍ക്കൈവിസ്റ്റുകളുടെ ഒരു സൈന്യം ആവശ്യമാണ്, ”അദ്ദേഹം ഒരു വീഡിയോ സന്ദേശത്തില്‍ പറഞ്ഞു.
