2016-ല്‍ നടത്തിയ ആശുപത്രികള്‍ കേന്ദ്രികരിച്ചുള്ള പഠനം കാണിക്കുന്നത് ഇന്ത്യയില്‍ 7 മുതല്‍ 43 ദശലക്ഷം ആളുകള്‍ക്ക് സോറിയാസിസ് ഉണ്ടെന്നാണ്. നിലവില്‍ ഈ എണ്ണം വര്‍ധിച്ചിട്ടുണ്ടാവാനാണ് സാധ്യത. സോറിയാസിസ് രോഗികളുടെ ചൊറിച്ചില്‍ ഉറക്കത്തെ തടസ്സപ്പെടുത്തുകയും 31% രോഗികളില്‍ ഉല്‍പാദനക്ഷമതയെ ബാധിക്കുകയും ചെയ്യുന്നു. കഠിനമായ സോറിയാസിസ് ഉള്ളവര്‍ വിഷാദരോഗത്തിന് ഇരയാകുകയും അവരില്‍ ആത്മഹത്യാ പ്രവണതകള്‍ വര്‍ധിച്ചു വരുന്നതായും കണ്ടുവരുന്നു. ഏകദേശം 7-42% സോറിയാസിസ് രോഗികളില്‍ സന്ധികളുടെ വേദനാജനകമായ അവസ്ഥയായ സോറിയാറ്റിക് ആര്‍ത്രൈറ്റിസ് ഉണ്ടാകുന്നു. രോഗികളുടെ ജീവിത നിലവാരത്തില്‍ സോറിയാസിസിന്റെ സ്വാധീനം ഹൃദയസ്തംഭനം, ക്യാന്‍സര്‍ തുടങ്ങിയ ഗുരുതരമായ രോഗങ്ങളുള്ളവരുമായി സമാനമാണ്. ബയോളജിക്സ് ഉപയോഗിച്ചുള്ള നൂതന ചികിത്സ ദീര്‍ഘകാലത്തേക്ക് വേഗത്തിലും പൂര്‍ണ്ണവുമായ ചര്‍മ്മ ക്ലിയറന്‍സിനായി രോഗികളെ സഹായിക്കും.
