എട്ടുവർഷം കടന്നുപോയി. ശിവഗംഗയെ അപ്പോഴേക്കും നവാബ് തന്റേതാക്കി മാറ്റിയിരുന്നു. പേരു പോലും മാറ്റി – ഹുസൈൻ നഗർ. ശിവഗംഗയെ തിരിച്ചുപിടിക്കാൻ രാജ്‍ഞിയും കുയിലിയും നടത്തിയ അവസാന പോരാട്ടം ലോകത്തിന് ഒരു പുതിയ യുദ്ധതന്ത്രം പരിചയപ്പെടുത്തി. ചാവേർപ്പോരാളികളുടെ ജീവൻ പണയപ്പെടുത്തുന്ന വീര്യം. ആ യുദ്ധം നയിച്ചതാകട്ടെ നാച്ചിയരുടെ പ്രധാന പോരാളി കുയിലിയും. താഴ്ന്ന ജാതിയിൽ പിറന്ന കുയിലി രാജ്ഞിയുടെ പ്രിയപ്പെട്ട ആളായിരുന്നു. നാച്ചിയരുടെ ചാരസംഘത്തിലെ അംഗമായിരുന്നു കുയിലിയുടെ പിതാവ്. അന്ത്യയുദ്ധത്തിൽ നാച്ചിയരുടെ സർവസൈന്യാധിപ എന്ന റോളിലേക്ക് ഉയർന്നു കുയിലി.
നവാബിനും ബ്രിട്ടിഷുകാർക്കും എതിരെയുള്ള ഒളിപ്പോർ യുദ്ധത്തിനാണു പിന്നീടു ശിവഗംഗ സാക്ഷ്യം വഹിച്ചത്. കുയിലിയുടെ നേതൃത്വത്തിൽ സ്ത്രീകളുടെ പങ്കാളിത്തത്തോടെ. ബ്രിട്ടിഷ് സൈന്യത്തിന്റെ കണ്ണുവെട്ടിച്ച് അവർ ശിവഗംഗ കാടുകളിലേക്കു കടന്നു. നേരിട്ടു യുദ്ധം ചെയ്യുന്നതിനുപകരം ബോംബിട്ട് സൈന്യത്തെ നശിപ്പിക്കാനായിരുന്നു പദ്ധതി. കിട്ടിയതാകട്ടെ ഒരുദിവസം മാത്രവും. വിജയദശമി ദിവസം. അടുത്തും അകലെയുമുള്ള സ്ഥലങ്ങളിൽനിന്നു സ്ത്രീകൾ കൂട്ടത്തോടെ ശിവഗംഗയിലെത്തി– രാജരാജേശ്വരി അമ്മൻ കോവിലിൽ. കുയിലിയും സംഘവും ഭക്തസംഘത്തിനിടയിലൂടെ ആരാലും ശ്രദ്ധിക്കപ്പെടാതെ കടന്നുചെന്നു. പൂക്കൾക്കും പൂക്കൊട്ടകൾക്കും ഇടയിൽ ആയുധങ്ങൾ ഒളിപ്പിച്ചുകൊണ്ട്.
കാത്തിരുന്ന നിമിഷമെത്തി. വിളക്കു കത്തിക്കാൻ വച്ചിരുന്ന നെയ്യും എണ്ണയും തന്റെ ശരീരത്തിലേക്ക് ഒഴിക്കാൻ കുയിലി അനുയായികളോട് ആവശ്യപ്പെട്ട്. തീ കൊളുത്താനും. ശരീരം കത്തി അഗ്നിഗോളമായപ്പോൾ കുയിലി സധൈര്യം ബ്രിട്ടിഷ് സൈന്യത്തിനിടിയിലേക്ക് ഓടിക്കയറി. ചരിത്രത്തിലെ ആദ്യത്തെ ചാവേർപ്പോരാട്ടം. തിരിച്ചടിക്കാൻ ആയുധങ്ങൾ പോലുമില്ലാതെ ബ്രിട്ടിഷ് സൈന്യത്തെ നിസ്സഹായമാക്കിയ ആത്മവീര്യം. കുയിലിയുടെ ത്യാഗം സൃഷ്ടിച്ച അമ്പരപ്പിൽ നവാബിനെയും ബ്രിട്ടിഷുകാരെയും തുരത്തി മുന്നേറി വേലു നാച്ചിയർ. ശിവഗംഗ തിരിച്ചുപിടിച്ചു. ഒരിക്കൽ നടത്തിയ പ്രതിജ്ഞയുടെ സാഫല്യനിമിഷം. പകരം വീട്ടൽ പൂർത്തിയാക്കി ശിവഗംഗയിൽ വേലു നാച്ചിയർ അടുത്ത ഒരു പതിറ്റാണ്ട് രാജ്ഞിയായി രാജ്യം ഭരിച്ചു. രക്തസാക്ഷിത്വം വരിച്ച ഭർത്താവിനുവേണ്ടി. വിദേശീയർ ആധിപത്യം സ്ഥാപിച്ച് അടിമയാക്കിയ നാട്ടുകാർക്കുവേണ്ടി. 1796–ൽ മരുതു സഹോദരൻമാർക്ക് രാജ്യഭരണം കൈമാറി അന്ത്യശ്വാസം വലിക്കുന്നതുവരെ അവരുടെ ഭരണം തുടർന്നു; വൈദേശികാധിപത്യത്തെ നോക്കുകുത്തിയാക്കി.
വീരമങ്ക എന്നാണു ചരിത്രത്തിൽ വേലു നായ്ച്ചർ അടയാളപ്പെടുത്തപ്പെട്ടത്.പക്ഷേ, കുയിലിയുടെ ജീവത്യാഗം അർഹിച്ച അംഗീകാരം കിട്ടാതെ വിസ്മൃതമായി. ശിവഗംഗയിൽ ഇന്നുമുണ്ട് കുയിലിക്കുവേണ്ടി സംസ്ഥാന സർക്കാർ സ്ഥാപിച്ച സ്മാരക മന്ദിരം. ഒരു പുസ്തകവും അവരുടെ വീരചരിതം ഏറ്റുപാടിയില്ല ഇതുവരെ.
