എന്റെ പരിഷത്ത് ജീവിതത്തിലെ അവസാ നത്തെ 15വർഷങ്ങളിലെ(1991-2006) ഒരു പ്രധാന കഥാപാത്രമാണ് ഡോ. തോമസ് ഐസക്. പുത്തൻ സാമ്പത്തിക നയങ്ങൾക്കെതിരെ, അതായത് ആഗോള സാമ്രാജ്യത്വ ത്തിനെതിരെ, പരിഷത്തിന്റെ മുൻ കയ്യിൽ രൂപീകരിച്ച സ്വാശ്രയ സമിതിയുടെ കൺവീനർ എന്ന നിലയിലാണ് എനിക്ക് അദ്ദേഹവുമായി ഇടപെടേണ്ടി വന്നത്. സാമ്പത്തിക വിദഗ്ദൻ എന്ന നിലയിൽ പ്രചരണലഘുലേഖകൾക്ക് പിന്നിലെ ബുദ്ധികേന്ദ്രങ്ങളിൽ ഒന്നായിരുന്നു ഐസക്ക്. അദ്ദേഹത്തിന്റെ ഇഷ്ടവിജയം കടക്കെണി ആയിരുന്നു. കൊണ്ഗ്രെസ്സ് സർക്കാർ രാജ്യത്തെ ഭരിച്ചു മുടിച്ചു ആഗോള സാമ്പത്തിക ശക്തികൾക്ക് പണയ പ്പെടുത്തുന്നു എന്നതായിരുന്നു പ്രധാന പ്രമേയം.
1993ലെ സ്വാശ്രയ പദയാത്രയിലും പിന്നീടും ഇതേ അപകടം ഉയർത്തിക്കാട്ടി രണ്ടാമത്തെ സ്വാതന്ത്ര്യസമരത്തിനു തയ്യാർ എടുക്കാൻ ഞങ്ങൾ ആഹ്വാനം ചെയ്തു.
1996ൽ ജനകീയസൂത്രണ പ്രസ്ഥാനം തുടങ്ങിയപ്പോൾ പ്ലാനിംഗ് ബോർഡിലെ സ്പെഷ്യൽ സെല്ലിൽ ഞാനും ഉണ്ടായിരുന്നു. അവിടെയും സാമ്പത്തിക ചർച്ചകളുടെ അടിസ്ഥാനം ഒന്ന് തന്നെ. കടം വാങ്കി കല്യാണം വേണ്ട!രാജ്യം മുടി ഞ്ഞുപോകും!പ്രഥമ, ദ്വിതീയ മേഖകൾക്ക് വേണം ഊന്നൽ.
2001 -2006 കാലത്തെ പരിഷത്തിന്റെ പ്രചരണമേഖലയിൽ പ്രധാനം ഇതായിരുന്നു. സർക്കാർ സംവിധാനത്തിലെ ആധുനികവൽക്കരണം (MGP ), ADB Loan തുടങ്ങിയവയിലൂടെ കരുണാകാരൻ, ആന്റണി സർക്കാറുകൾ സംസ്ഥാന ജനങ്ങളെ കടക്കെണിയിൽ പെടുത്തുന്നു. അതു കൊണ്ട് ADB വായ്പ വാങ്ങരുത്. കണക്കുകൾ ഉദ്ധരിച്ച് ഞാനും കേരളമാകെ പ്രസംഗച്ചു നടന്നു. പലപ്പോഴും അവധിയേട്ത്തു തന്നെ.
അതിന്നിടെ ഐസക്കിന്റെ അമേരിക്കൻ റിച്ചാർഡ് ഫ്രാങ്കി ബന്ധത്തെ തുടർന്നുള്ള വിവാദങ്ങളിൽ പരിഷത്ത് പ്രതിക്കൂട്ടി
ലായി. മാനഹാനിയും ഫലം. എല്ലാം ഐസക് തുടങ്ങി വെച്ച വിന!അക്കാലത്തു ശു ദ്ധാത്മാവായ ഞാനും കഥ യറിയാതെ കുറെ ആട്ടം ആടി. സി പി എം കാരനായ ഐസക്കിന്റെ യഥാർത്ഥ മുഖം ഞാനും തിരിച്ചറിഞ്ഞില്ല.
2005ൽ ഞാൻ കൊല്ലം കോർപ്പറേഷൻ കൗൺസിലർ ആയി. കൗൺസിലിലും പാർലമെന്ററി പാർട്ടി യോഗങ്ങളിലും അതി ശക്തമായി എ ഡി ബി. വായ്പ്പക്കെതിരെ വാദിച്ചു. ഒരു കൊല്ലത്തോളം അങ്ങനെ പോയി.
അടുത്ത വർഷം ഐസക് മന്ത്രിയായി. എന്റെ സഖാവിന്റെ രാഷ്ട്രീയ വളർച്ചയിൽ ഞാൻ സന്തോഷിച്ചു.
എന്നാൽ ഏതാനും മാസങ്ങൾക്കുള്ളിൽ എന്നെ ഞെട്ടിച്ച ഒരു തീരുമാനം എ കെ ജി സെന്ററിൽ നിന്നു മേയർക്ക് പാർട്ടി വഴി കിട്ടി.130 കോടിയുടെ എ ഡി ബി ലോൺ ഉടനെ വാങ്ങി ചെലവഴിച്ചോണം.ഞാൻ ഡപ്യൂട്ടി മേയർ വെളിയം രാജനോട് കയർത്തു, ഇതെന്തൊരു മര്യാദ കേടാണ്!ഇന്നലെ വരെ പറഞ്ഞു വന്നതിനു കടകവിരുദ്ധമായി ഇന്ന് പറയാനോ? രാജൻ സാർ ചിരിച്ചു കൊണ്ട് എന്നോട് പറഞ്ഞു :ഭാസ്കരൻ സാറേ, ഇതാണ് രാഷ്ട്രീയം. അവർ തീരുമാനിക്കുന്നു. നമ്മൾ നടപ്പിലാക്കുന്നു.
ആ അവർ എ. കെ ജി സെന്റർ. എന്റെ സഖാവ് ഐസക്ക് ഉൾപ്പെടേയുള്ള സി പി എം സെക്രട്ടറിയറ്റ്.
തുടർന്നുള്ള നാളുകളിൽ ഐസക്കിലുണ്ടാകുന്ന മാറ്റങ്ങൾ എന്നെ അത്ഭുതപ്പെടുത്തികൊണ്ടിരുന്നു. വാക്കും പ്രവൃത്തിയും ഒന്നാകണമെന്ന പരിഷത്ത് ദർശനം കേരളം മുഴുവൻ പ്രസംഗിച്ച് നടന്ന ഞാൻ ക്രമേണ പരിഷത്തിൽ നിന്നും അകന്നു.
2010 നവംബർ 3നു ശേഷം ഇന്ന് വരെ ഞാൻ ഐസക്കിനെ നേരിൽ കണ്ടിട്ടില്ല. ഫോണിൽ പോലും സംസാരിച്ചിട്ടില്ല.
