നല്ല ഒന്നാതരം നായർ തറവാടായിരുന്നു.
സാവിത്രിയും ഗംഗാധരനും രണ്ട് പിള്ളേരുമായിട്ട് വളരെ സന്തോഷമായിട്ടായിരുന്നവർ കഴിഞ്ഞത്.
ലക്ഷ്മിയുടെ മൂത്തത് മീനാക്ഷിയായിരുന്നു. നല്ല അടക്കവും ഒതുക്കവും ആരും കണ്ടാൽ ഒന്നു നോക്കി പോകുന്ന മുഖശ്രീയും.
ലക്ഷ്മിയും നല്ല സുന്ദരികുട്ടിയാണ്.
എന്നാൽ
ഇത്തിരി തറുതല പറയുന്ന കൂട്ടത്തിലാണെന്നു മാത്രം.

കണ്ട നാൾ മുതൽ ഒരു കുടപ്പിറനെപ്പോലെയാണ് ഗംഗാധരേട്ടനും സാവിത്രി ചേച്ചിയും ഞങ്ങളെ കണ്ടിരുന്നത്.
എന്തിനാണിവർ ഈ കടുംകൈ ചെയ്തത് .!
വാസു തലയിൽ കൈവച്ചു കൊണ്ട് നിലത്തിരുന്നു.
ലക്ഷ്മിയുടെ കരച്ചിൽ കൂടി കൂടി വന്നു.
നാട്ടുകാരെല്ലാം കൂടി .
ബോധം കെട്ട സാവിത്രിയെ ആശുപത്രിയിൽ കൊണ്ടുപോയി.

ഇന്നേ വരെ സാവിത്രിയുടെ മനസ്സ് നേരേയായിട്ടില്ല.
ഇതൊക്കെ നടന്നിട്ട്, രണ്ട് കൊല്ലം കഴിഞ്ഞു കാണും.
അന്ന് ഡിഗ്രിക്ക് പഠിക്കുകയായിരുന്നു മീനാക്ഷി .എന്താണ് സംഭവിച്ചതെന്ന് ഇന്നും ആർക്കും അറിയില്ല.
സാവിത്രിയുടെ അങ്ങളമാർ ഇവരെ കൂട്ടികൊണ്ടു പോകാൻ വന്നിട്ടവർ പോയില്ല. ഗംഗാധരേട്ടനും പൊന്നുമോളും ഉറങ്ങുന്ന ഇവിടം വിട്ടവർക്ക് പോവാനാവില്ലല്ലോ…
അവരുടെയൊക്കെ സഹായം കൊണ്ട് സാവിത്രിയുടെ മരുന്നും വീട്ടുകാര്യങ്ങളും നടക്കുന്നു.
ലക്ഷ്മിക്ക് വിവാഹാലോചനകൾ വന്നിട്ടും, ഇവിടെ അമ്മയെ തനിച്ചാക്കാൻ പറ്റില്ല എന്ന കാരണത്താൻ എല്ലാം ഒഴിവാക്കി വിടുന്നു.
